After Everything, Bloom

The poem that became a collection. The story behind Bloom from Ruin.

It started with a single line written at 2am: 'After everything that tried to break you, you still bloomed.' No context. No plan. Just a line that felt true in the way that the best lines do — like it had always existed and you were just the one who finally wrote it down.

Bloom from Ruin grew from that line outward. The collection is about the specific kind of strength that doesn't announce itself — the quiet, stubborn insistence on continuing. On growing through concrete. On choosing color when everything around you is grey.

The quiet, stubborn insistence on continuing. On growing through concrete.

The imagery for this collection came from the desert. There's something about the way things grow in the desert — sparse, deliberate, against all logic — that felt exactly right. Every piece in Bloom from Ruin carries that energy. Survival that looks like beauty.

We worked with a poet and a photographer for six weeks to get the visual language right. The result is a collection that doesn't shout. It just stands there, rooted, and lets you come to it.
